Vol. 5 No. 5 (2020): Conference Proceedings for International Population Data Linkage Conference 2020
Due to the emergence of COVID-19 as a pandemic in early 2020, the IPDLN 2020 conference which was to have been held in Adelaide, South Australia, was held as an online event. Despite the change in format, conference registrations were strong with 576 delegates. The IPDLN 2020 Scientific Committee, led by Professor David Preen, did an excellent job coordinating the review of submitted abstracts and 241 high-quality abstracts were selected for the event. Some were given as live presentations and others as recorded, on-demand presentations. Forty four of the selected abstracts were from students. The IPDLN 2020 conference title was Data Linkage: Information to Impact and the abstracts cover a rich range of topics including multi-sector data linkage, research using real world data, advance analytics, indigenous health and public engagement.
We are delighted that abstracts accepted for presentation at IPDLN 2020 are being published in this issue of the IJPDS. This will help to ensure that the views, ideas and research outcomes presented at the conference are available to a wider audience.
We hope that the work covered by the abstracts is of interest to you. If it is, please do follow-up with the abstract authors. This will promote collaboration and help to ensure that IPDLN activities related to population data linkage have an impact.
