Advances and Innovation in Data Governance
An important key to unlocking the use of person-based data for research is high levels of public and data owner trust. Data governance is an accepted means of demonstrating trustworthiness, by ensuring that data is only used within the bounds that have been agreed by data owners and within the limits of public acceptability.
Over recent years, alongside advances in analytical approaches and complex multi-sectorial linkages, there have been parallel advances in governance approaches.
IJPDS is keen to receive reports, articles and discussion pieces that describe new or improved data governance policies and procedures, whether manual or automated, that address areas such as speed and efficiency of the approval process, the reliability and repeatability of approvals, incorporation of wider stakeholder and public participation, new clarity or rigour in assessing acceptance criteria, or other similar areas.
Accepted papers will feature in a special issue of IJPDS with the aim of sharing good practice and improving data governance for all.
The closing date for new submisisons is Sunday 30th April 2023.
