We are proud to announce that the International Journal of Population Data Science (IJPDS) has been awarded the DOAJ Seal for best practice in open access publishing.

Only around 10% from over 20,000 journals indexed in DOAJ have been awarded the Seal, and we are delighted that IJPDS has received this acknowledgement for our continued dedication to open access publishing.

The Directory of Open Access Journals, or DOAJ, is the leading trusted international index of open access journals whose vision is ‘to build an equitable and diverse scholarly ecosystem where trusted research can be accessed globally without barriers.’ The DOAJ Seal is only awarded to journals that meet and maintain all seven criteria:

  1. Digital Preservation
  2. Self –archiving
  3. Persistent article identifiers
  4. Metadata supply to DOAJ
  5. Licence type
  6. Licence information in articles
  7. Copyright and publishing rights

Founding Editor-in-Chief, Professor Kerina Jones commented, “I’m delighted the journal has been awarded the DOAJ seal. We are committed to best practice in open access publishing, and the award reflects the dedication of the IJPDS team, plus the editors, reviewers and authors who work hard to ensure the high standards are met.

Interim Editor-in-Chief Professor Kim McGrail said, “The recognition of a DOAJ seal is another impressive accomplishment for IJPDS. Congratulations to the journal staff and all of our contributors, all of whom are helping to shape understanding of the field of population data science with scholarly insight and integrity.”

Interim Deputy Editor-in-Chief Dr Emma Gordon added, “Since its inception, IJPDS has been fully committed to the principles around open access to research outputs. It is fantastic to get this recognition from DOAJ, as it is the product of a huge amount of hard work from the IJPDS team to set and maintain these standards.”

We are thrilled to receive this acknowledgement and continue to strive to create a journal for you to be proud to publish in.
